My anxious family

Okay, first you should know that when I say “family” I’m actually referring to my PC’s!! Yes, I do consider them family. And because of that, you might wanna know them better! ;)

My first PC, my main PC,  and my love! Bought it back in 2004 when I knew nothing about geekism! It used to run Windows XP till 2007, that’s when fedora stepped in. Later on, Ubuntu took fedora’s place and remained like that till today! Although it’s really old compared to todays’ PC’s, I still love it and would never ditch it … so easily … sorry! Anyways, here are the specs:

  • Pentium 4
  • 2.5 GB DDR1 RAM
  • 80 GB WesternDigital IDE HDD
  • nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000 (128MB)

My favorite 24/7 IRC/Bit-torrent PC! I got this PC as a present for making it out of high-school. It was from my brother SIGTERMer. I’ve been using it mainly for IRC, being in #omg!ubuntu! and #ubuntu on the server. I also, not all the time, use it for seeding open-source torrents, just giving back to the community. The reason why it’s not always seeding is because of its capacity! … As for it’s history; since it fell into my hands, I had Crunchbang Linux running on it! Wanna know what’s with the name/capacity-problem? Meet AncientGramps:

  • Pentium II
  • 256 DDR1 RAM
  • 4 GB WesternDigital IDE HDD

Update: AncientGramps has been disassembled before March 2011 till today.

My netbook (Compaq mini 110), a gift from my dad for finishing high-school and making it in Kuwait University (2009)! I take this everywhere I go, even when going to malls!!

  • Intel Atom
  • 1 GB DDR2 RAM
  • 160 GB

I also have other operating systems, for example: Crunchbanng on my ExternalNut (my 320 GB external HDD)! Yes, you can do that with linux and would boot on all PC’s! Also couple of others on some USB sticks.
